Running out of work!
« on: March 22, 2012, 05:41:00 pm »
Hard to believe but with all this good weather we have been having I am literally running out of work for the window cleaners, 6 of them have been going flat out without any slow down for bad weather etc and I am now having to pull work out of next week in order to keep them busy tomorrow, which in turn means next week will be short of a days work and so it goes on.  Even picking up new work doesn't seem to slow them down. 8)

I'm not complaining, just stating a fact, anyone else come across this problem.

I may have to leaflet a new area to see if we can pick up a viable amount of work elsewhere, or push gutter cleaning a bit more, though with this weather nobody's really bothered about their gutterings  ??? ::) ???

Hi Ian,

We have the same problem, like you I'm going to leaflet and push conservatory roof cleaning and insides.

We picked up a lot of work last year but now with another van running, we are doing work faster.

Same here, fortunately Ive had a good level of work come in in the last few weeks to start to turn the tables a bit. Had a few gutters come in too as well as a few nice new window jobs. It was getting a bit close to the bone though a couple of weeks back.

I was thinking the same thing but I realised this was a five week month and everything done at the start of the month is due again so I will just do that and carry on the 4 week cycle, but to be honest even though it is a 4 week cycle I never normally achieve it

Yeah same here we are exactly up to date to the day!!!!!

Luckily for us we have had 5 gutter cleans, fascia cleans 6 new customers, one of which is a £120 job and a new commercial job,  Oh and quite a few people have booked in internal cleans so plenty of extras for us luckily this week.

I love the start of spring the influx of new customers and extra jobs  ;D ;D
Oooooo that is shiny!!

We are snowed under,

Theres not enough days in the week,  we will be out this sat and sunday too cleaning,

I usually head down to our caravan in wales at the weekends but its had to be scrapped this week.

I was off yesterday though pricing up even more work and today doing "admin" but the lads were at it. They like it more than me though,

Its all good fun,

Dean.

I'm not sure I would want to clean ahead of schedule. If it's 8 weekly and you do them on 7 weeks because you don't have enough work, i'd say you risk peeing people off.

Ian. I agree with Window Washers. Gutters have been quiet for me over the winter but have really picked up in the last 2 weeks. I think it's the idea people have of getting the place spruced up in the Spring. Nothing to do with rain.

Will definitely be pushing them like mad now  ;)
