Gave me a shop clean today, I know every one moans about the big company's but he was doing a well know chain across the road when a small shop asked him to do theirs, he said leave it with me it will be so much, that was fine she said, she was fed up of the other guy because he never turned up. he then walked over to me and said "go do that shop over there it is so much, I canny be bothered with more work than I already have" sure I said done the job and secured another shop on my round :D and at a decent price.

by the way the shop keeper was correct the other guy is unreliable, I know him

anyway I always have a friendly chat with the nationals in town and generally they are decent lads just doing a job

Yes I know mate a lot of unhappy folks around all over, the lad I was chatting to today was licensed for Falkirk, Lanarkshire and somewhere else, whenever they get pulled up the company applies for a license, couldn't speak for all of them though, pretty sure Mitie are licensed in at least one area, don't know about the rest, the Greig Avaniou lads seem decent as well, I know it is hard for the small firms like you and me but that is business

I dare say when a new Tescos open somewhere Mr Patel who has a shop a hundred yards away isn't happy either;D

anyway this wasn't really about the big company's, just the lads that work for them and how they can be ok, and through some friendly banter on a morning can benefit us, i.e. an independent shop he wasn't interested in was given to me instead of someone else

i agree, i generally find them pretty decent chaps.  i still wonder though why they are working for a national, when im doing the same job and earning at least double what they are

some folk just prefer a wage and no hassle of collecting, this morning as I was chatting away, a lad from another national came over and joined in, and they were all sound and were actually looking out for lads that had been laid off and passing details on, on who to phone for a job and all the rest, and they were willing to vouch for such and such to their gaffers, so that good window cleaners stayed in work, when my brother laid off a long time employee at least three firms wanted him

It is good to talk ;D
