New washer

Been to look at a diesel electric start Lambordini power washer today. its a 13 hp 3500 psi and looks a monster.
My power washer repair guy has got it in and has offered to take my Karcher in part exchange, he's offered £1650 on my machine against it.
Has anybody come across one of these before.
Only snag is its only a cold washer.

Gary washers have a good reputation and will run forever downside as pointed out cold wash is it skid mounted or wheeled? I have only come across the 9 / 10 and 20hp versions the 9hp kicks out 3500psi at 4 gallons per min with a boiler fitted

Looked on the net for the 13hp still can't find one ???must be my search criteria is it new or second hand gary, can a hot box be fitted on to it, what do you think of it yourself. If you are anything like me you will know if you want it or not, will it be cost affective for your needs as You need hot and cold like me, just my thoughts as usual all the best .

I have looked for the 13 hp and cannot find one maybe I could have got it wrong as I was looking at a few.
But its a great black machine.
Its a recon machine probably one that had been leased out.
I only came across it because I took that small washer in that i bought before christmas for a overhaul, he loved the small washer and told me that it was a very good machine with a cat pump and was as powerful as my Karcher.
I really do need a hot washer, but it would be great on domestic drains as this is something that i have been doing a great deal of.
I might be tempted to lease it for a couple of months just to see what its like, just like a try before i buy.
But if its not as good as my own i would just hand it back.

I would go for it and keep the karacher as back up. Is it the same bar and psi as your karacher?
If I had the space I would definatly have a second back up washer however curently space is limited so I mearly carry spares.
One thought this machine is likely to be significantly heavy and portability may be an isue.

My own machine is a Karcher HSD801B hot and cold, this is a fairly heavy machine and normally I operate it from the van.
Then I have a second machine which is small and compact in its own wheeled cradle which is very light and easy to take from the the van this has the same 5.5hp honda engine on it but a cat pump..
But the lambordini machine is almost like a piece of plant its huge its got a massive single cylinder engine on it and is more powerful than the karcher.

Leasing sounds ideal for this one Gary, nothing lost nothing gained best of luck

I think thats what i may do, or I might put my machine in the workshop for a complete overhaul and persuade him to give me a loan of it until my machine is finished.
This way i can try it out for free.
Usually I'm in me bed by now.
But Ive got a lot of debating to do so I will probably be up half the night thinking or scheming as the wife puts it.
Cheers

Gary, i wish i had a dealer like yours, Round me only a karacher dealer that charges a fortune and numerouse horticultural places that wont touch the pump side of things. Thankfully pressure washers are fairly basic and so far I have managed to service etc myself.

Sounds like pauls in the same boat as I am in, managed to get my Karcher working cold water side but still no hot, still looking for a replacement but not much luck as yet, I am not saying there is no one up here that can fix them it's just I havn't found one yet that I don't need to take out a morgage to pay for the repairs / servicing and that's even before they look at it, if anyone knows someone please let me know
I won't hold my breath though.

This guy i use is spot on, he make lances up for me, makes and repairs hoses. Fixes my machine and even gives me credit when I'm skint.
He does the lot, sales, spares, service and hire.
To be honest he's a great asset to my business.
His spares are not the cheapest, but his service definately is.

The lambordini has a 400cc engine on it.
Went to the repair guy again today to pick up my little washer, took it home and tried it out.
To be honest it shows my karcher up for power.
Asked him about overhauling the Karcher he told me it doesnt need it and if I wanted to test the Lambordini machine out, then I have to wait a couple of weeks while he overhauls it and then I can use it and see what I think.
But I am not too sure after using the small machine as its really powerful.

I only need a more powerful machine for drains, but I think this little machine will do he job no problem.
I agree that a hot machine wins hands down for cleaning.
I might just stick with what Ive got for the moment.
No problem, thats what were here for to help and advise each other when we can.

Hi Gary, we have used nothing but diesel Lombardini washers for the past few years. A guy builds them for us and twins them with an interpump pump. The engines are 22hp diesel electric start and the pumps are rated at 4000psi but are geared down to 3000. it puts out 30 litres per min but because of the 22 hp the engine is never killing itself. Like yours they are also cold water. These engines last forever so I would highly recommend that machine.
