SIMPLES.

Instead of having micro / mini-bore hose, then pole hose, why not just straight pole hose. 100m of it.

I've got a 60ft pole with bout 70ft of hose. Never tried 100m of pole hose, just wondering if anyone else has.

I'm anticipating kinks and tangles. But ya never know.

Comprende?

Pole hose would not be sturdy enough. It will stretch and flatten and then snap, and that's why you need proper hose on your reel which will last for much longer.  ;D

I must be a bit stupid.

What is meant by 'pole hose'?

I've got microbore from the brush to the van.

The thinner hose that you get with pole.
Did you buy the pole with no hose ans shove your microbore though it!?  ;D

Some versions of pole hose is 5mm internal, 8mm outer, reinforced. That's the stuff I'm wondering about.

I haven't used 100m but I see what its like when I get the excess pole hose caught on things, when I tread on it, when I pull it.
I can also see the difference between the core strength of pole hose compared with micro bore when I use them on a daily basis and pole hose is nowhere near as tough as micro-bore imo.

Ah! That might be different from what I use, mines the bright yellow Gardiner stuff, I should have said that at the beginning sorry.
Maybe that stuff you're talking about might not be to bad

That's the stuff I just bought (from Gardiners) to replace all the hoses in all my poles.
Chap got himself tangled up in my black hose the other day, got me worried just in case.

When the hose came, remembered my first pole, years ago, had reinforced hose - part of which I've stil got somewhere.

Just got me thinking that in yellow, would be ideal.

Know you all know the extend of my bored mind and it's worries.

Thanks. Now I get it.

I bought an Ionics pole which came with this horrendous orange hose that ties itself in knots and gets caught on everything. I used it for 1 day before changing to streamline 8mm microbore.

I can't imagine anyone using 100m of that orange stuff. I'd be buying razor blades before the day was out.

Maybe other pole makers hose isn't as bad?

I think someone should give it ago, donations this way please. Think it would give some interesting pump controller settings.

its hard enough controlling pole hose at the end of a pole, bugger having 100% of the stuff it would drive me mental (or a little more so)

i just use warm water , immersion heater comes on at 6 am till 8 am water is at a nice warm temp , the clear pole hose was a lot better than the yellow i didnt even have warm water with the clear hose .
