if you run a business, accept bank charges, your running a business, also you can then build a good relationship with the manager, and the tax man will accept you as a proper business.

goodgod things have to be paid for, filtering money through domestic accounts!!!!

why line the bank managers pockets when they rip us all of anyway. you carry on and and pay your bank charges and i will have free banking for life lovely. :D

Join the FSB and get free banking with the Cooperative bank, minimum £1000 deposited per month.

WRONG not anymore for new custy,they now do a flat rate charge

brother just opened an account last week free for a short period 6 months I think then £7.50 a month I think that is great, I am paying £12 to £25 a month, I keep it down by not banking cash mostly

WRONG not anymore for new custy,they now do a flat rate charge

Oh.... Ok. I have a free business account with them. Must be a recent thing then.
IT STILL FREE FOR OLDER CUSTYS,BUT ANYONE NEW THEN THEY PAY A FLAT RATE FEE.

HSBC IS ONE OF THE DEAREST ;D
that will not last long trust me, get a load of please in as the seek free stuff, grow it then start charging them, simple little modle a little like what microsoft are doing with free websites.

im a member of fsb only thing is iv finally got a lot of customers paying by bacs now i know itll cost me a lot of money to keep on going with hsbc but i really do not want to put my customers thru anymore hassle

I am a member too, I really should use them for a cheque account and transfer to lloyds via online alothough its another job added to a list of things I dont want to do.  :-\

Richy they should have an online business account that makes online payments cheaper or free, did you ask about this ?

Ian.  The Santander deal for customers was worded as "Free business banking for life.".  Now that doesn't stop them crippling the service to make it virtually unusable.  For a while I thought that's what they were doing until I realised it was just gross incompetence.
