Definately, you're not alone. We did a builders clean off the scaffolding last Thursday. 10 hours solid work for the two of us. That evening I sat down in my chair and when it was time for bed, I couldn't get out of it.

Next morning, just tying my boot laces was a problem.

Go and see the quack, mate.  About a year ago I had severe shoulder problems.  I couldn't sleep on my left side, I couldn't wash under my right armpit, getting dressed and undressed was painful.  If I slipped or moved suddenly, the pain was bad enough to drop me.

I didn't want to go to the docs in case he said, "You can't window clean anymore!"

I went in the end, it was some rotor cuff damage; sorted within a few weeks with some strong anti inflammatories, and my shoulder has been no problems at all since.

Serious, see the doc.

bending down was killing me kneess (after many years scratting around on my knees as a mechanic my knees are worn ) . ,  anyway at that point i took on a helper to do the downstairs work and thats been one of my best decisions.

Apparently, it's fluid from the cartiledge that has escaped causing the cyst !!

i have a worn disk in my back and arthritis in my neck, some mornings i have trouble getting out of bed.

but the worst was when i had a trapped nerve, i could only sleep on my right side and  could hardly walk, but it didn't stop me climbing my ladder, it actually helps that you keep moving, the physio didn't tell me to stop, just slow down, i was strapped up and dosed up, i won't let things like that beat me.

i must be brave or stupid.

I split a disk in the middle of my back years ago, before window cleaning, spent 5/6 yrs trad and been wfp for 9yrs. I suffer badly from time to time with my back.

I gave up smoking 2 yrs ago and have been a frequent visitor to the gym of the last 2 yrs, I recommend Yoga and loads of stretching to anyone manually working.

I still suffer, but not as bad.

See the doc.  He'll give you strong anti inflammatory tablets.  You'll be sorted in a few weeks.

And then get a SLX or some lightweight carbon fibre pole; I've not had any trouble since.

Also, when you jar yourself, and the pain is so intense it could almost drop you, meditate your full concentration into the pain; and try just looking at it, rather than thinking 'Aaaaaarrrggggg yer f(*&(*&(*'.  I couldn't do it, but maybe you can?  ;D

Yep, I got a draw full of anti inflamatory stuff and painkillers.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Full-Catastrophe-Living-mindfulness-meditation/dp/0749915854/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1331487547&sr=1-2

This book has a very clever way showing how pain works, and how to deal with it and still function properly.

if it is dirty it is fair game
