ncca and yellow pages good deal
« on: March 08, 2012, 02:20:09 pm »
as i am always quick to have a go at the ncca over what i percieve to be a money grabbing organisation that does nothing for its members i thought it only fair to say something positive about how i seem to have benefited through being a member.

i got a call from a yellow pages rep wanting to sell me an ad under the ncca banner/logo which i was quoted £135 inc vat, i took the deal as i have previously been quoted £248 for a similar sized ad and that would not have included the ncca logo. i think its a good deal so if you can get around the sales reps who try and sign you up for 7k worth of advertising you may come out of it with a reasonably priced ad that just might bring in some work.

so well done ncca

Being the cynic I am..... how did they know you were in the NCCA?

If the NCCA told them was your name sold?

How do you feel about an organisation that you pay to be in giving your details to third party
companies and where does it stop?

Is it a good deal, its half the price with a tenth of the readership it once had!

i do'nt know how he got my name, maybe he got it off the ncca website or he could have found out by looking at mine.
i seem to remember paul pierce saying something about the ncca doing a deal with yp when i did my first training course with them so i do'nt think there is anything sinister going on.

The NCCA have been doing corporate deals with YP and Thomsons etc for years, Guild of Master Craftsman also used to do it aswell as other training bodies, at that price I would do it the small downside is that you go in a box with their logo with a few others who are members so you won't stand out.
