Yes, I know how to stop them.

Take the details of the caller and the company.

Tell the caller that the number connects them to your call handling service. Your call handling services cost £50 per call, and is payable immediatly on reciept of the bill.

Let them know that it is entirely up to them if they would like to make use of the call handling service, however the next time that they call it will cost them £50.

I don't get any at all now, I started doing this last year when things were getting a bit out of hand, and it has worked.
if it is dirty it is fair game

Are you on Yell, i think that where the nuicance callers get the numbers from, you can register with phone preferential phone service, but nothing really can be done, i useally talk to them about my hope as a Jehovahs Witness, and how it will help them, and they allways hang up

We found registration with TPS has reduced them. We only had a couple of calls where the guy from India told me that TPS didn't apply to him.

When I'm in the mood I will mess them around as long as I can - its annoys them eventually and makes me feel better. I had one swear at me for wasting his time and hang up. That was 'job done.'

Superb.  I'm not a JW but know enough to be able to bore the pants  off a sales caller too.

I had 'Morrisons' supermarket call me this morning, trying to sell me an account for buying all my Diesel from them,
I said 'tell you what, I'll sign up for an account if you give me the contract to clean all the windows on every Morrisons in Devon, you do something for me first, then I'll do something for you' the guy couldn't get off the phone quick enough!

Just read out some of your previous threads on here and bore the t*ts off them, I guarantee they won't phone back

Registering with the TPS takes a few weeks to start working.  Also, it needs to be refreshed once per year.  It doesn't cut it out but it does reduce them.  I make sure that every caller who breaches TPS regs gets reported.  If there are enough reports, they get fined.
