HOW MUCH RESIN FOR DI VESSEL
« on: March 04, 2012, 09:05:56 am »
have just replaced my disposable resin canister with a 11lt refillable one, just unsure how much resin you put in it, where do you normally fill it up to and do you fill it up with no water in it.
thanks in advance

fill it up to the neck, just dont pat it down.

you will end up with it filled just over 3/4 full which allows water to move freely around the resin.

DO NOT FILL IT TIGHT, the resin will channel and appear spent whien in reality only the part that channeled is.

Hope this help if not ask away  ;)

Get yourself one of these as well, they are a perfect fit for the top of the di vessels, and save a lot of hassle when filling. I found mine in a skip.
if it is dirty it is fair game

I use 10 ltrs of resin for an 11 ltr vessel.
What I do now is get an old washing up bowel or bucket (but has to be clean).
Fill the bowl about half way with resin then add pure water and mix together so resin is wet.
Then get a 2.5 ltr empty plastic bottle and cut to make a large scoop.
Fill the vessel up using the scoop until you have used all of the 10 ltrs of resin.
If there is too much water just slowly empty some out.
I find it much easier to re-fill a resin vessel using this method.
