New prices notification
« on: March 01, 2012, 10:36:36 pm »
I will be putting my prices up in April for the first time since starting cleaning in October 2010.

I have drafted a small note which will be posted a month before their next clean which goes something like this:

'With effect from 15th April 2012 the price of your regular window clean will be:

£___ 4 weekly
£___ 8 weekly
£___ 12 weekly

As it has become a growing issue, cleans that are cancelled without valid reason will need to be at the increased rate given above.'

It's the last paragraph that I'm worried about. I'm sick of losing money each money with people cancelling for no reason and I need to clamp down on it - I just don't want to sound harsh! What do you think of it?

Hi,

Personally, I'd try and go with something a bit more subtle.

"Due to the consistent increase in overheads (fuel, insurance), we are forced to increase our prices from time to time....etc etc" I'd go with that sort of tone.

I do not even know what the last sentence means to be honest, but if you are saying you have people cancelling (probably because they are trying to save money), then I'd ditch that. It looks unprofessional and could give people the impression that you are losing out on custom for another reason ie: below par service.

Just tell them you need two days notice to rebook or you will charge them a penalty ontop off when you reclean them

We just put em up, and if they question it explain the prices go up every two years.

Try not to make a big issue out of it, and most dont even notice.

i wouldnt bother with a letter.i would either see them face to face and tell them of the increase or phone them up and tell them.

whats wrong with some of you window cleaners?good customer relations is very important.IMO you need to communicate with them face to face.

ive put around 100 customers prices up in the last few weeks.no cancelations.another 50-60 to go.ive been telling them face to face.
price higher/work harder!
