So for people who arent trad and only wfp... how do you get to that and do the job ? Can you attach a scraper to the wfp? thanks lol am starting out in 1/2 months so just wondering

You can get a scraper on the back of your brush
But how effective this with paint I don't no.

I have been asked to do this before and I just say I can sorry
Ladders are to dangerous, the not really but I just can't be
Arsed for what they would want to pay

But that's just me, I'm sure plenty will get the ladder out and

im wfp if their is paint on the window i get the ladder off the van and get it off 

I get loads of work due to lazy window cleaners that don't do a good job had one today last guy charged £13 told Her it would be £16 every five weeks  plus she wants her conservatory done twice a year all because the last guy was lazy

Perhaps you can do it from inside? Also if i were you I would be going the extra mile to make sure my customers were happy, referrals are the best source of work by a country mile and if you dont do a good job you wont get any and thats not a good way to start a business

I'd get the ladders out mate - its not like its gonna take you long and it can only be good for customer relations
If you don't fancy that, ask if you can clean it from inside - just make sure you take your mucky boots off

What has not being trad got to do with it? Use a scraper is easy enough, go inside, open the window, stick arm out of the window, scrape of the paint, close window, go outside and using your pole clean window. Easy enough I would think as long as the window does actually open, if not its either buy a ladder or dont do the job.

i have a scraper attached to my brush and if that doesn't do it then thats it,if you are going to go down route of wfp for safety reasons then you have to make a decision and stick with it,many a wc as come unstuck doing a "one off" or gutter cleans etc,you only fall once,i have this year decided to remove my ladders from the van roof rack and have a 4 section folding ladder which i use mainly for peering and unlocking gates or the odd garage roof i have taken the decision not to go any higher,no gutter cleans,no getting the tennis ball out of the downspout,98% of work is now standing on the ground and i feel its the right decision for me i even bought a slx35 so i could reach the awkward windows above the long extensions,which i use to climb on to to clean.
just my thoughts on the matter

That would be a rare situation I think so best not to worry till it comes up....

Best way to avoid it is target areas where they are mainly upvc windows, we only used to do a few wooden windows and always made sure they were well maintained before starting....

I don't carry ladders either, safety 1st followed closely by making life

Almost agree, i use my Unger scraper on the end of a harris pole.

yep trad pole with scraper, I have needed it in the past for really bad bird muck, if the paint was really bad I would explain it would be priced as builders clean, and use whatever method I see fit be it ladders, from the inside or scraper on a pole

Just be wary of scratching the glass as then they might blame you...

DONT.  Just clean them, and let them scrape it off not worth the bother .

Just make sure the glass is wet and scrape in a foward motion you should be fine, I always warn customers that they may get the odd scratch most say they would prefer the scratch to the paint!

I can't say i have scratched one yet though, well no complaints anyway
