how to access that roof
« on: February 28, 2012, 02:23:16 pm »
What kind of access would be suggested for that roof to clean moss ?
Trouble is that plastic roof over the car is too old to try to dismantle it. What options would you suggest.

Thanks in advance

Victor,
Cover carport as much as possible in case of tile slips / breakages
Ladder / cat up to ridge ropes over semi onto neighbors drive if possible, if not use double chimney using 'proper' straps and ropes (Hi Matt ;D) - walk down hip roof.  Looks like concrete Rosemary tiles so need to go carefully as they break easily, those types of hip tiles do move over time so may also need repointing.

If they are Rosemary tiles that sort of age coating would also be a good option. Looks around the 70's property worth checking it is felted - if not walk away. Lots around Bedford not felted but earlier age.

Hope this helps  ;D You can always sub it to us for an agreed commision  ;D
Regards Mike

You could get a small cherry picker to put on their drive (although I cant see the surface from the photo) and boom out. But you would ideally need a licence to operate one safely

yep could boom it.. if drive is suitable plus outreach what 10m - far cheaper ropes. Boom that size weekly £180 + transport (say £250 +vat) most local companies around here day rate similar to wk.
