if its purefreedom then its really easy to get spare parts

its brodex mate broke in the first week rang them up but they werent interested so we bodged it finally broke

richy buy a few of the gardiners lightweight reels.£37 each.cracking piece of kit.i bet the brodex one was expensive!!

i think it was around 100quid daz i went there headquarters for it and they had a load in the coner and they said there returns mustve been 20 there but coz i was desperate i bought one was a bit nieve shuda cottoned on really

Buy a new one Richy boy you got loads of money get a decent heavy duty one will last for years !!! pay for what you get !!!!

Mine started leaking there , just replaced it for about £18 and put it back together easy peasy

Although purefreedom style reels arent the most expensive/heavy duty ones they are ok and you can replace most of the parts for peanuts compared to buying new

Twice our reel has gone there with people dropping the reel out of the van onto the floor. The problem is the water runs inside that plastic piece and having the screw there creates a weak spot. Also the swan neck that attaches the hose to the reel has a really thin piece of plastic which you can whip right off if your rushing and unreeling really quickly. However we've got the new brodex reels which are all steel and they seem a lot more sturdy. Not as good as my new pure freedom reel though, I think it resistent up to about 50 mega ton explosions.

I dont drop my reels

But i know what you mean about the weak spot, when i stripped mine down i could see how it was  leaking in that spot as it was starting to split

Other problem i find is they dont balance well at all as the feet arent far apart enough and when unreeled quite alot of hose they weigh very little so fall over easy

They are best bolted down i reckon and then pull hose through van floor through one of them roller thingys

Thats my next move i think
