Just had this emai from trad/sad cleaner
« on: February 24, 2012, 12:16:27 pm »
Hi just read you website and it states that w.f.p has less of an environmental impact.  I do find that somewhat funny as you use electric to purify the water causing global warming.
Then there is the fact that you using vast amounts of water.  Then your van will use more fuel when loaded with water.  What part of using a w.f.p is good for the environment???
I run a big traditional service that is picking up so much work from w.f.p cleaners.  I won't buy one until forced to by health and safety totally banning ladders.  Just thought I might point your claims to be a bit untrue mate.

(spoke to another windie while our this morning & same bloke who sent me this has
Been door knocking his custies saying wfp scratches cills & window. Desperate springs  to mind

The trad soapy water he pours down the drain and the soap he washes his scrims and applicators with takes hundreds of litres of clean water to wash through.
It's a game of three halves!

Taking his points.
Electricity isn't necessary for purification so long as there is half reasonable water pressure (non pumped system).  Leisure batteries can mostly be charged by engine movement though it is true that a bench charge is needed sometimes.

Using water in itself, is not environmentally unfriendly.  It might only appear that way due to incompetent water companies not investing in infrastructure.

Fuel usage.  Yep.  He's right about that though I would qualify it.  With WFP, much larger jobs can be done than with ladders so it is possible to work all day on one location (or very few anyway).

I've never pushed the environmental aspect myself as I know it is possible to challenge it too easily.

He forgot to mention how unkind we are to the environment when we board the plane for the holidays we can afford using all that extra money we earn using wfp.

Bang on mate

Im nearly finished changing over , few more streets and done
And i already dread any ladder climbing i have to do , cant stand it

Only did 1 house and a couple of flat roofs with them today and that was enough

Who'd choose to climb ladders all day when you can do it just as well and often quicker from the ground..... beggars belief
