TC Canvassing!!!!!! New
« on: February 23, 2012, 12:27:05 pm »
I'll cut a long story short, been trying to be an advertised round from Tom since december to be told umpteen stories of I'm not selling it to someone else is having it.

I finally viewed the round last week and said ok I'll have just need to get the money from the bank manager, which I did yesterday..
Left him a few messages yesterday saying call me to only be rung today by his window cleaner Duncan that they sold it elsewhere to someone else????

If your building a good reputation this isn't the way to go about it..,

As far as I'm concerned people need to steer clear, as this is not on!!!

Really thats a matter between the both of you and I don't think should be highlighted on a public forum.
I remember a while back advertising a van for sale. The first phone call I had was from a bloke sounding extremely keen telling me he 100% wanted to buy the van (without even seeing it!) and asking me how he could pay me as he lived over 100 miles away!
He  desperately wanted the van but couldn't get to my area for about a week, so against my better judgement I told him to send me a cheque to secure the van for him and I would contact him when the cheque cleared for him to arrange collection.
That day I had about a dozen phone calls from people in the local area, I could of sold that van 5 times over!
But I told all of them im sorry someone has said they want the van and they have sent a cheque in the post.
I waited 4 days .........and no cheque arrived. I tried phoning the "buyer", then when I eventually got hold of him he told me he was coming the next day with the cash.
Next day came .......he never showed up.
In the end I sold the van to someone local.......who didn't muck me about and came with cash on the day!
I went against my better judgement in holding out for the "eager buyer" and I came unstuck.

I think its all down to communication, if thats what you told him when he viewed it he can't have any complaints! But if you agreed and told him it was his I can see his problem.

There was no mention of a deposit at all from you I told you there and then that I will have the work and said worst case that you may have do the next clean and you both agreed that it was fine... Deal done you called me over the weekend to confirm about my appointment at the bank and said I'd call you on Wednesday evening once I'd secured the funds which I did... The mug here is you I held my end of the deal...

I'd heard some things about you and how dishonest you are so no change there then...

Three times it's taken me to get this work, you mug people off at every turn.

The reason why I'm posting this is so everybody is clear on how you Tom conduct business you weren't even man enough to call me yourself you have your employee do it!!!!

Shame really I'm sitting here with the money that you could've had plus any future canvassing that I wanted you to do. Now you can shove it up your arse!!!

Oh last point if you'd pick your phone up you could have said this all yourself big man!!

I'm sorry but I've been chasing this work since December last year, it's not me wasting anyone's time. I spend my last bit of cash flow o er Christmas and on my new sign writing so I needed to borrow the money as mine is tied up. What's the problem I would have quite happily given a deposit but it was never mentioned in the hour long conversation we had afterwards... Funny that

Your a Prick mate I'm glad you backed out and stripped me up as I know now exactly what having any dealings with someone like you would be like...

Would have been nice, oh sorry Scott I'm on holiday next week so i wont be able to take your call, if you can't get hold of me I'll sell it to someone else... What a joke

Lesson learned, its your reputation in question not mine!!!

Bet you did this to other guy who was going to buy it before me???

I don't know Bob, anyone who comes to this or any forum with the sole intention of touting for business should be open to members feedback - good or bad!

With respect, I disagree strongly bob.

TC canvassing comes on here, as do others, blatantly looking for business. If somebody has an unpleasant experience when dealing with him then others need to know the details so they can make up their own mind when entering into deals with him in the future.

Think of it as a public service announcement.

I admit that OP would be more credible without the name calling though.

I also think the thread should be left open, as a deterrant and to make people aware of mistakes made during the purchase of work/rounds.

This is why I wouldn't buy or sell a round advertised on a public forum.
Anything goes wrong and you have all this agro to deal with.
These things should be dealt with privately and confidentially.

The reason why i'd posted this, was not to argue tit for tat about being messed around but to inform people of the bad experience i've had with TC Canvassing.

He blatantly advertises on this forum and people need to know feedback, to give a pathetic reply is just not right.

I've had no contact with him with an apology or reason to why he's chasing another £250 from someone else, so i've posted here instead.

Locking this thread will only protect the feedback of the business/ person that's doing this

If, for example, in 6 months time you tried to buy a round from a forum member and got scammed or given the runaround, you would obviously be upset. If you then found out that the scammer had previous for doing this to other forum members in the past, you would be disappointed that the previous victim hadn't posted a warning, right?
