Sick of them saying it, sometime I don't know y I bother,if I didn't do the neighbours I'd leave it, I look at it as 10 pound for the clean if I'm there anyway doing in the street than one tenner less if I just binned that 1. 

What would you do, without being rude as neighbours talk and that.

It can be difficult.

Plus I'd lose gutters on a yearly bassis..

In this years price review (price didnt go up), we mentioned that the price wasnt going to be going up, but prices quoted were for 5 or 10 weekly clean, if they needed to skip a time we would have to charge 25% extra for the next clean, due to less frequency, more dirt, etc.

set your stall out and stick to it i say .  once iv decided somebody is going i never look back(that includes workers ) .  i make an extra effort to find new and wont go back even if they have a pleasant face (strangely that type of customer NEVER has )

I get this on a scale you would not believe. It's probably because I am the new guy in town as they say, so I am living off the scraps while I build my business up looking for decent customers.

Once I am in the position to bin them, I will. At the moment it just goes with the territory.

this is pretty much what i was like untill i had enough work,now i wont put up with any type of messers,although i dont get any not todays well its rare if i do anyway

it really really is a numbers game this business.
when u have enough custies you will not think twice about dumping them and then it really becomes easier.

20 yrs on m8 i have a few messers left and only do them if i have time left at end of day/convenient/right price ?

I dont mind when the odd one says give me a miss today,sometimes glad of the rest
,but with the ones that do it to regular and p me off i just stop doing them,then when [and if ] they ask you back just say" you havnt had them done for x months ill have to charge double for this one".
It solves the problem pretty quickly, one way or the other.

dump asap as once they get away with it they keep on and you need to know what you are going to earn that day, how would they feel if they were told they were finishing work an hr early with no pay. not a lot i hardly ever get this on a 6 weekly rota though 4 weekly must be terrible

On the other side of the coin, we have had some "leave em this month, money is tight" custies recently, who are genuine salt of the earth types, who are generally struggling.
Supermarket prices have ballooned in recent times, so have the cost of pretty much everything.
Window cleaning is more of a luxery then a necsessity at the end of the day.
Try as best as you can to dump the real messers, but also be a lil more patient with the nicer custie, who is genuinely struggling, its fairly  easy to seperate the two, as generally the messers have boat races you could just punch, first thing on a Monday morning

I do have a good few on standing order, and if I'm honest I do have enough houses to drop the messers, but I'm a man after Alan sugars money, ...money is money and if I'm there I might as well, wrong may be, but a tenner richer. Although I do agree with you all

If your monthly then offer 2 monthly at a slight increase.if they mess you about on this frequency without a good reason then dump and don't take them back on again.

I have on occasions taken messers back on and it usually doesn't take long for them to start messing again.so dump.you really don't need them.

Go out with "ill take my luck as it comes" attitude every day and you'll find yourself not getting frustated about it.

Some days we pick up extra work and other days we get the odd not today.go with the flow of the day!you'll be far calmer and productive!!!!

charge them £130 on the first clean of the year, then say you will not charge them for the next 12 cleans due that year.

If they want to do the "not this time", then thats fine with you.

I've just had a "can we leave it a couple of weeks please" from a £95 pub I do every 4 weeks, they did it this time last year but had regular cleans until now so not too bothered.

I know what you mean.. when people say "your not doing it today are you!? " I reply with Yes otherwise we would never get anything done. The other classic I bet we all get although not as annoying is "You've picked a lovely day for it!" Like we sit around doing bugger all, all month waiting for the one slightly sunny day to come clean your underpriced bungalow!
