As Paul say’s Woodbridge are now importing the new improved Panther from Chemtex.
While all of you were putting your feet up over Xmas I took the time to go and meet John at Woodbridge’s and look over his new Panther range.
For those of you who are looking for a basic T/M with plenty of power this is the machine for you!
I was most imprested with the design and ease of access for servicing with the two heat exchangers it has the making of a reliable machine coupled with the 2.500 psi water pump an ideal machine for patio cleaning without the need to carry extra machinery.
What I liked about the panther was the shear simplicity of it along with its weigh for less than 200kgs you can have a 20hp with a 4.5 blower capable of cleaning 450ft from your van and still be well within the weight limit of a one ton rated vehicle.
The nice part about the design is all the machines on offer have the same foot print so it does not matter what size engine or blower you choose weather it be a 3.2 or a 4.7 through out the range all the machines are all the same size,  so fitting will not be a problem. There is a choice of water tanks too either sub mounted or a saddle tanks can be fitted though the sub mounted tank is slightly dearer due to the fact it is stainless steel and not plastic.
I have chosen the 20hp with the 4.5 blower with a sub mounted tank because it will give me the same performance as the  Hydramaster Boxxer I have at present whilst taking up less room in my van,  but mainly because it’s a lot lighter and it does not have all the bells and whistles that the new breed of Hydramaster machines now have. Oh almost forgot to say its close on four grand cheaper which is another good reason why I bought one.
I’ll keep you all posted with my progress on the new improved Panther.

I have an 1100kg van so the 20 hp  with water tanks would be O.K,  wouldn't it?

When I asked Alltec they said 1300 kg minimum for their machine although I received info the other day that they have now swithched to Blue Line so this may be different.

Doug I have a Renault Master and the max weight I can carry in mine is 850Kg Go with the Panther Doug you will not go far wrong all the spares if you ever need them are at Dual Pumps at a fraction of the price of most leading T/M suppliers.

John you know me well, there are two small mods I have in mind already? And before anyone asks its not a gas con:
The machine is cappable of running at low rev's so fuel will not be a isue.

how have they managed to get the weight down on the woodbridge TM? They seem a lot lighter than most other similar TMs, do they have the build quality / materials of the Prochem and Hydramaster?
How do they compare for noise levels with your old Boxer?

just looking at the spec on these machines.
Were you not tempted to go for the top of the range dual operator pro 25 model ?
Its only a £1000 more than the one you have picked, and weighs only 7kg more, like you say,same footprint.
Not much extra to pay for a beast of a machine?

I am sure you know your vans payload capacity  , but I just checked the spec and if its the swb renault master it should carry 1100kgs max payload.
Got this spec off renault site
 the entry-level SWB/low roof model with the 80bhp engine is memorably titled, the SL28 dCi 80. This model will carry a maximum of 1,101kg on the back, knock on the door of 80mph, when unladen, and return 35.3mpg on the combined cycle. 
Unless, what you mean is that once you have taken into account the weight of all of your other equipment, a full tank of fuel, and your own weight , you have 850kgs left to play with?

I have a Renault Master 2.8 van In the hand book it say's curbside weight 1750kgs all up weight 2800kgs
Van weighed totally empty with a full tank of fuel 1900kgs take that from 2800 are you still reading slowly that leave me 900kgs.
I weigh 80kgs so to be on the safe side I'm looking at a 800kg payload.
Didn't you recently buy a car that will did in acess of 120 mph
Tell me Chris where will you use all this power?
Or did I read that some were
