I'm using the digital varistream and there is no issue with 6mm or 8mm. You just need to set up your shut off pressure correctly. 8mm is huge compared to 6mm microbore, the smaller the better. You just need to set it up right. I've been using the same shurflo pump for 4 years. 3,5 with mini, half a year with micro.
Clearviewwc I kind of seems whoever you spoke might know about pumps, but not the controllers? The pumps we use at this type of pressure aren't close to being stressed. Like I said above, you need to finetune the pressure. Just flow control doesn't work, you need to be able to control both.
I did fine tune, had cutoff at highest setting. The guy I spoke too was from the makers... Williams is it? Says on the varistream anyway. Just relaying what he said re hose compatability. As I've said though, I still haven't cleaned my first window wfp yet due to problems with suppliers etc so I know nuffin. Happy to give way to your experience.
The 5mm hose I bought was standard pole hose from gardiners, 100m of it and a reel. I've not had good advice from gardiners with a few things I've bought over the last couple of weeks thus buying things that aren't compatable or not needed. The girl on the phone is a trainee. I think it would be better to fully train them in all aspects of the products that are sold before putting them on the front line answering calls. I might be a one off but I'm not at all happy with gardiners although yes, the girl sounds very nice. Her not knowing the products well has cost me money and lost me lots of time. People have spoken well of gardiners, it's not been my experience though.
I apologise for posting again, it's not my thread. I thought it related originally.
I am sorry that you are not satisfied with your shopping experience with our company.
All of the persons on the telephone sales lines are fully qualified sales operators and whilst some may be newer than others, none of them are trainees in being able to take and process your order. However not all of our sales operators are fully qualified water fed pole engineers so if there is a technical query this will be referred to a member of staff with the relevant experience or technical knowledge. We do not train our staff to be familiar with all of the fittings required for alternative products that we do not sell, such as aqua-dapters etc. I do note from my staff that alternative Resi-Neck items were sent out for you and the original Type1 will be refunded when the original is returned by you. It is always best to check with the manufacturer of an additional item as to exactly what is needed as even I am not always familiar with all after-market add-ons that are not made or recommended by our company.
None of our sales team would recommend using 100m of 5mm 'pole hose' for use on a hose reel. It is just not suitable for the job which is why it is clearly called pole hose. I have asked one of our senior office team to track down this order and I think that I have identified you by the order details. She did see this order and queried the requirement of 100m of pole hose and a hose reel with the member of staff who took the order and the member of staff said that the client was quite clear that they wanted a reel of 100m of pole hose. We do get clients who like 'alternative' set-ups and we are happy to sell them what they want, if they ask for it, even if it is not the usual set-up. As it happens we do have several clients who do use 100m of 5mm pole hose on their hose reel as it is lighter and cheaper, but we would never recommend it to anyone.
We have been retailing for seven years and we take calls from hundreds of 'newbies' every month whom we provide with advice and support. We have many letters and emails from such ones who are grateful for the advice and time they have been given. It can very difficult for our sales team on occasions as many new users are not familiar with items and sometimes struggle to describe exactly what they want. In such cases our operators are trained to use the website photos, etc , with the clients to try and determine exactly what set-up the client is trying to achieve - every client's (even newbies) requirements can be different and we respect the right of the clients to sometimes choose something we would not personally recommend.
Whilst the Forums are a great way to get general advice or even have a moan, the first port of call should always be with the supplier as they are the only ones that can sort the issue out. Clients that email us or myself directly will always get a more rapid response than those that use the forums to complain. If you would like me to look into this further, please email me with your full name and contact details along with an order number and I will do so.
