info please

Hello,
We are in the caravan parks business so this forum could be a labour saver for us!!
Firstly I am looking for information on a machine or system that a friend of mine (lost touch with him) used on some carpets maybe 10+ years ago, it produced excellent results as I recall. The process used thousands of very tiny sponges impregnated with some cleaning chemical or other which was scattered on the carpet and then they were worked in with a machine with contra rotating brushes (a bit like two hoover beater bars but much heavier and slower). The sponges where then hoovered up when the chemical had evaporated, if anybody has info on this process I would be gratefull, I think he got the machine from the Preston, Lancs area.

Thank you very much Doug, I have been looking on the net for ages, does anybody know if these machines are for hire or are they "owner operator" only?

Hi Shane,

If you've got a steady flow of caravans to clean wouldn't you be better off buying rather than renting?

Hi Arthur,
not really a steady flow but pt/x units that are traded in (carpets are the first thing to be spotted)
and our own offices, reception areas, small conference room etc and our own properties all of which need a going over from time to time.

Hi Shane

(im not saying HWE is better or worse than Dry) but why use a dry system when you could pick up a realy cheep HWE machine from ebay and with a little training probably from the supplier away you go cheeper than buying a dry system

From my experience of cleaning caravans I have usually found that the upholstery needs cleaning too, you will not be able to do this with 'sponges' or granules. If I were in your position I would be looking at a hot water extraction machine capable of doing both jobs.
