Ive been trad for 25 years but am making the switch to wfp as ive fallen off twice in that time and ended up in hospital both times. Ive bought a van and everything else I need for wfp. Today was the practice on my own house day before doing a large ground floor care home (100 windows) next week that i thought would be a good place to practice on. I connect to my 100m hose (6mm internal diameter) and turn on the vari (no 6 setting) to find it cuts out, flashing p and l. I thought it may be the battery so swop for one I know is fully charged, it still cuts out the same. I then connected to 8 meters of hose to see if maybe it couldnt handle 100m (no kinks, brand new, layed out fully on lawn) and was fine with 8m. But then i thought it surely couldnt be that it cant handle 100m as i know plenty that use it. I then bypassed the vari and found that the pump worked with the 8m, shooting water out about 4 meters. When used with the 100m the pump fuse (3amp) blew after a few secs. I replaced with a 5amp and it worked ok but only came out of the end about 1.5 meters which doesnt seem much at all. The pump isnt new, was bought with the van and was left out in the freezing weather unused for a month before i bought it (i couldnt see it working as everything in van frozen). Im assuming that it is a problem with the pump but as i know nothing about them in wfp use i thought i'd ask the pro's. Or is it that 100psi shurflos dont work with 100m lengths of 6mm internal diameter hose? Thanks for looking/replies.
