i went to a custy yesterday and they live in a 500k house which where i live is pretty nice. down south it would be 1.5 mill if not more . they have huge wrought iron gates and i have to bell the house from the gates , which has a intercom device also. i belled the house and waited and looked over to the kitchen window where i saw the woman of the house look over to me to see who i was. so i thought any second now the gates would open . i waited and waited and started to get impatient so i gave it an extra buzz on the bell . a long buzz. still no answer i dont care if they dont want the windows done but at least they could have the decency to tell me instead of leaving by the gates in anticipation. so dumped and im getting 2 new ones . funny thing is ive known this family for 30 years and they do have rep of messing people  around but i didnt think they would treat me with total disrespect. and i do their windows at a discounted price the downsize of being a cleaner i guess

Depending on the mood I am in on the day, I may be amused or furious when this happens to me.
The end result, however, is always the same. Whether they realize it or not, they have just become ex-customers.

if they dont usually do things like this it could be any number of reasons.  having a phone convo on the speaker phone, got the runs, lost their voice, family member just died etc.  always give them the benefit of the doubt first time.  only dump them if they do it next time as well in my opinion

Make sure you get paid from this job, and the next time you go DO NOT sprinkle a handful of carpet tacks just outside of their electric gates; DON'T!!!  ;)

I agree, Its not usual that ANY OF US EVER HAVE A BAD DAY, and windowcleaners are furthest from their mind.

Give them the benefit, let it go over your head and move on,.... if you really want to. IMO
