Monthly cleans

I really don't know how you manage it. I guess if I only charged a fiver I'd get a better take upand retention, but I have managed to keep very few monthly cleans at a rate I am happy with. 95% of my round is two monthly.

What do people charge in the south for a standard 3 bed semi monthly? I charge £15 two monthly and no one complains, but most of the original monthly cleans at that price are now either gone or two monthly.

I used to quote one monthly and two monthly prices, usually say 12 and 15, but people realise it is much cheaper to go two monthly, plus in a month, the windows don't get dirty generally. But now, seeing how the monthly cleans disappear or become two monthly or problemtic, I now just go two monthly.

Longer term, I believe it is the most profitable way, but it just takes ages to build.

maybe up your 2 monthly rate so it's a harder decision for them, maybe £12 monthly and £17 two monthly?

There's no way I'd get away with it mate - knowing what other cleaners charge in the area - people won't pay it full stop
I was cleaning on one estate in Sleaford the other week mate and 4 that's FOUR other windies were on the same road, no more than a few houses apart

Monthly? I reckon I could keep my customers monthly at those prices, but I'm not prepared to work for that.

I should add that a cheap 3 bed semi around here is £200,000.

Three bed semi for us is about £15 we charge a minimum of £10 for fronts only, 15 all round.  I think that's a fair price to be honest.  But these things can depend on areas.

I'm always amazed at the prices Trad guys charge, I feel they work a damn site harder for the money as well.  If we do any trad work I'd quote way more than I do for WFP.

When you were building your rounds up did you still have that minimum price? I work on my own and am doing relatively well but don't have a minimum charge yet - I quote around the £1 a window mark + a bit more depending on distance
I can't be that far off surely? (and I'm wfp)

We are still building our rounds Mark, we're in Greenhithe Kent.  Hopefully we will only pick up clients worth having in the first place rather than working our nuts off and then rooting out the tight sods.  Start as you mean to go on I suppose.

Don't get me wrong, we've been caught out by the odd crafty customer, my colleague gave a rough price to a customer in Bickley the other month and they didn't want a proper price and stuck to the rough guestimate of £20, place is more like £30-£35 all round.  We did it for them the first time but I'll be ramping it up or the next clean or I'll let someone else have them.

Where are you based.

Im based in Grantham in Lincolnshire mate - I've been cleaning for 2yrs now - used to work for a local bloke for about 18 months who has massive rounds in the area
I'm used to quoting his prices tbh - over the last 8 months I've upped my prices and feel they are fair for the area - although I do have work outside Grantham which is much better priced (town about 20 miles down rd, much more affluent)
