Chemspec 429
« on: February 13, 2012, 06:34:58 pm »
Hi
a hotel I clean regularly has had a slight virus problem with 4 or 5 guests coming down with the lergy over a couple of days. They have asked me to fog Chemspec 429 ( or rather I suggested it!) throughout the hotel just to make sure there are no more cases. I have done all 35 bedrooms but am a bit concerened as how to fog the communal areas and restaurant. I cant be in the same room without a mask on in the bedrooms as the fog really gets down your chest. I`ve been using a restormate mini fogger. Just wondering, if anyone else has used the product, can it be sprayed onto surfaces using a gloria sprayer with a fine jet?
I cant really do it at night time either because of the noise of the fogger. There havent been any more cases recently but they just want to make sure.
Cheers.

Are you using 429+ or just 429? 429 is better on the chest, I'd still use a respirator though! Why can't you fog the communal areas? It would be more effective than spraying with a gloria, which could be done if you didn't want to fog.

Also I'd fog whatever HVAC system they have, at extra cost of course...

Hi Mr Smith (not sure what your first name is ;D).
It` normal 429. I cant fog it in the communal areas ie bar, restaurant corridors as all the residents wouldnt be able to breathe! It really does get down your chest.
One of the workers there couldnt stop coughing when she walked past a bedroom i`d just foggged and I only opened the door for a second to let myself out!

Yes you would have to cordon off the areas, but it should only need 40 mins to an hour and its fine for re-entry. You could spray but it wouldn't be as effective, and certain items would need further cleaning, even with fogging. Do the management only want to be seen to be addressing the problem or are they serious about the threat? If they are serious then it would be worth a fog in my eyes, unless you drench the reception with your gloria that is!

Its Danny by the way!
