Silicone Gutter Vac parts
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:11:24 pm »
Hi guys, working on building a gutter vac at the moment, I've been looking at parts from people that sell the kits and found it a little expensive.  I found a 51mm to 38mm silicone reducer made by Samco for cars, Turbo pipes by the look of it.

Also the 135 degree for the top in 51mm, I just wondered if this the same as what they actually sell with the kits as it certainly looks like it to me.

Anyone know?

That's correct mate. It's what I've used, although you will be forever un-doing the jubilee clips to unblock the bend. This is because your tubing fits into the bend at both ends and isn't smooth all through making it prone for twigs etc to catch on the lip of the tubing.

The silicone does add a fair bit of weight too.

Yes they are the right phoses. Could i ask, what are you planning on using for the pipes mate? Aluminium ones or plastic?

Well as it happens I was struggling with that one.  I guess it comes down to weight, the prices are the same for the stuff that Blast Away used.  I like the idea of the plastic clear tubes though.

Hi there yeah they are the same i don't use  jubilee clips on mine as they are a good fit.

Also never had and problems with blockages and the bend, sometimes at the reducer but easily unblocked as i only use jubilee clip for the vac side not on the pole side cos again a good fit.

i Really like the idea of the clear tube but i would imagine they would have a lot of flex in them. and aluminium will be so much stronger.

I have started to sell my kits take a look @ http://www.guttervacsystems.co.uk

if your local enough to en7 area more than welcome to come have a look/try. willing to drop prices for ciu members.

any questions feel to give me a call numbers on the website

Regards Mark

i'd rather not sell the individual items.

time i buy them then pay for postage and then pay for postage again to send them on its not worth the hassle. but i've got to offer the individual parts.

go for it i'll even give you my suppliers details if you want, trust me you wont make a lot after postage on selling the individual parts just all the hassle running them to the post office.

but if your willing to do it for less then crack on

Iv got to say mark iv had a look at all these pieces to make my own and it doesnt look like your making much mate. Once you buy all the stuff, pay for P+P make all the parts, pay for P+P again, pay tax and then repairing if something goes wrong! Good on you mate if you can make it pay.

When you buy in volume which suppliers should do, there is no p&p to pay.
