i will tell you one thing i did do that i think could have been wrong when i threw away the old resin i rinsed the cannister out with tap water before filling it with fresh resin

Resin expands as it removes impurities which is why the cannister shouldn't be full.

just a little tip that may be of some use,,when you,ve put the resin in the canister to about 3/4 full, don,t try putting the top on straight away,,because sometimes is difficult to get the thread on straight because the resin moves the filter about to much,,fill the canister to the top with r o first and you,ll find the top goes on simple as,

Empty resin bottle, rinse with near pure water, refill 3/4 high whilst a tapped off hole in the top of the bottle is in place, make sure u connect the correct water flow pipes to the correct ones, ie left to left right to right. Brodex only. Job done

It's absolutely fine to use tap water to both rinse & fill a DI vessel.

Is the riser tube fully inserted into the head unit? They usually need a little push as it goes past an internal rubber O-ring. ;)

Agree with this post.

Fill the vessal with resin to the neck, because as soon as you put water in it, it will sink leaving enough space, been do it this way for years and works perfectly well.
