Many more people? are these the retired or not working. I found walking the streets till 4ish when the mums got home a struggle, after that till 8ish most doors were opened.
As a proffessional canvasser I would have thought youd want to maximise your time, but then if it works for him, no worries.
perhaps hes not a proffessional
but then again we aren't proper window cleaners as he said the otherday!
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

well having been canvassing now for only 3 years, its swings & roundabouts.i find the most productive time is daylight hours, lots of people work from home these days, house husbands, single parents and people on days off.In the winter months when its cold and dark,i find most people rather not open their doors. But then again horses for courses.why should i carry on when i made nearly £400 for 5 hours work.If nobody is in i leave a flyer, and if they want a wc they will get back to me...the other day i had 4 phone ins.If you think that i am bull poopting then just ask the people i am working for, they will give Tom & I good references.Like i said its swings and roundabouts, some days are better than others, with cancellations.

Why would any cavasser work 12 till 5?
I would have thought the best times to catch people in would be 4 till 8 or 9.
And then why stop at 5pm?
There is so much poo on here. :-[

so you think hes a dreamer too? lol

 ;D ;D ;D
i worked in a village in Leicestershire once.i think the whole village was down the local,as hardly any1 was in between 18:30-20:00

If he came on under another name saying nicking had got him a good day with a couple of plant pots, garden chairs and a couple of kiddys toys, you may have thought he could be ok and I'll give him a try. But to come on advertizing how good he is, thick oe what.

i was surprised too, but in the area i;m knocking in right now i;m probably getting 30% in when i knock from 12, and they're not all retirees and/or unemployed either.  but yes, if i had only could do 4 hrs, the best time is 4-8 for sure.

Yes, you are right when I think about how many of my customers are at home in the day. Nick made a good point about people who would from home

The funny thing is I get people telling me not to canvass evenings, particularly winters, don't canvass during the mornings and avoid late afternoons. Oh and Sundays are a no no as well!!!!!

I use to be a door to door canvasser for a carpet cleaining company, and we only ever knocked doors in the day time, normally between 11 and 4pm, we got loads of
work.

and nick, the best way to get more work, especially on forums is to get some testiomials from some of your clients, get a few, who sing your praises and your phone will not stop ringing.

Hi...totally agree with you,but we are over run with work, dont want to take too much more on as one becomes overloaded and i do not want to break promises by not fulfilling contracts.
