need to buy a charger for a leisure battery i just brought for my pump box can i use any standard 12v car charger or do i need something special

Ctek chargers are the way to go, not cheap, but top of the range.

I will second the halfords one , good bit of kit , i use this till the light goes green , then wack the battery on a standard charger for one hour , i find this to be the best way to maintain the life of the battery , i used to go through a battery every 6 months or so , since using the halfords one i have had my present battery for 2 years

make that 3 - i use the 1200cc one thats 25 quid - gives a nice gentle charge overnight - but it's only used to top up on busy days where the van has not moved much and i need to re-fill ( system works off pump controller )
