Am i the only one on this forum who"s avarage hourly  rate is around £25 an hour , every one else seems to be on around £ 40 or so , all my work is domestic  in surrey

Your hourly rate will depend on quite a few factors
first of course is price
second is how long it takes to do the job
third equipment used
forth mixing high and low priced jobs together

if you look at all of these and apply them correctly then you will soon get the maximum rate per hour out of your work.

it does not matters what your hourly rate is if your monthly or yearly turnover rate is low

My hourly rate is higher but I have someone else who works for me. Also I only really market large houses. It has taken me a while but thats my business plan. Less traveling due to bigger houses and less stopping and starting. I can get a better hourly rate due to the fact I am working longer on the glass before having to pack up and move to the next house.

Hourly rate means nothing , Its only a guide to test your pricing. I can pack all my high volume income houses into a short and get a very heigh income. Don`t sweat the small stuff if you are happy with your income smile and move on if not canvass more custies.

If you are a one man band, cleaning windows then you can work for a lower hourly rate, however if you are looking to build a sustainable business and employ people and pay for vans insurance etc. then you really need to be looking at an hourly rate of £40.

Bear in mind if a window cleaner is out working for 8 hours a day he will probably only be on the glass (earning money) for 5-6 hours

I should not moan i suppose as i still earn more than most tradesmen i know , i usually work from 9 till six in summer  , winter hours 9 till around four depending on daylight.

why not, if he has the right work at the right price, then this figure is achievable, or even higher.

But filling you whole round with this type of work takes time, a lot of time.

Well done to anybody who can get that, Im probably a little to bone idle to be doing that.

without sounding like a t*t there is a big difference between earning money and making money.

BUt turning over really high figures every day 5 days a week , every week doesnt happen very often , it seems only the most disciplined , fastest , sole traders are turning over in excess of 1k a week every week on there own

Its very do able , but not as easy as you may think

Id be too distressed with the mental stress.

Id never get tired of collecting though if I was doing £1500 cash a week on my own. Id be out every night and drive myself into an early grave

Some average £40

Just depends what area I'm in
