Its dangerous being one of my customers
« on: February 02, 2012, 08:43:19 am »
The week before Christmas I cleaned a regular customer I have been doing for some years, Mrs McLochlan. When she came to the door she looked a bit rough, she said had a chest infection but she had been to the doctors and got some antibiotics. Not at all unusual, loads of people like it at that time of year. My mum didn't go out of the house for two weeks in December.

Anyway this week her neighbour told me that the day after I had been her breathing became very bad and her daughter called the doctor who had her taken into hospital. The following day she died! She was 62 apparantly. Respitory failure

I was really shocked, in this job you lose customers from time to time but this one has really taken me by suprise.

I remember a couple of years ago having a custie, late fifties, didn't see him for a couple of cleans, then got a cheque from his sister informing me to stop.

He'd died of heart attack.

Another custy of mine early sixties (probably best custie) had to have his leg amputated fom the knee down, can't remember what was wrong but it was life threatening at the time.

Just reminds you life is short, but sweet i hope ;)

I had a custy die before christmas- first one for me.

Poor old love had no-one - no friends, no relatives - just a few of the neighbours who used to take her dog for a walk as she couldn't walk.  I even went on a few errands for her to the shop and the post office.

Then the dog died in November and she went downhill pretty quickly - I think she'd given up tbh.

Then I cleaned and she was nowhere to be seen - neighbour confirmed she'd died the week before.  I must admit I was pretty upset - old dear died alone in her bed.

Turns out she did have relatives who lived about 30 miles away but couldn't be ars*d visiting - and now they're arguing over who will get the house - friggin tossers!!

Life's short - and some families are c*unts

rant over  :-X
