Losing your van
« on: February 01, 2012, 01:14:07 pm »
My van has been hit and has been towed away for the damage to be assesed. It's bad enough having lost three days already this week with no income and no idea when my van will be operational again. I am still waiting on a hire vehicle that should have arrived today but due to an office cock up the hire company know nothing about it.
If I get a replacement van, I will need to put a temporary system in it in order to work. My normal system is bolted to the chassis and so can't be used.
It occurred to me that if I had an employee I would presumably still need to pay him even though we were unable to work?

Sorry to hear that, it is a pain when a vehicle is off the road! I pay an extra, i think, £75 a year to A Plan so i get a replacement van with a system on board if the van is off the road. Might be worth looking into that for the future.

Worth considering. First accident I've ever had to claim for, you just think it will never happen. I might look at A plan next year. Their quote was way off the mark when I checked before.

I just insured another swb van with A plan today £645 full comp with 4 years NCD with van and system should it be a none fault accident, just van if fault. which I thought was quite good
