Hi Rich,

Cradle training is site/cradle specific. So you would usually need to get trained on every different type of cradle you use.

What would usually happen is that you or the owners of the building you are cleaning would have to pay for the guys who maintain the cradle on the building to come out and do an induction on the cradle for you.

Usually will cost a couple of hundred quid per cradle for up to four or five guys to be trained at a time.

Cheers,

Huw

Oh right cheers huw I thought I'd never heard of a specific licence for cradle work, they did mention it on impact43 course I just thought u had to get a qualification then get training from engineer on each type of cradle as all different.

I may be wrong Richy but I dont actually think you need a licence at all to use one, im going on a course in a couple of weeks and the lads i know who have already done it told me the trainer said ths and he said that people just need to be made aware of how they operate but you actually dont need a licence or anything to use them

Cradles are straight forward mate. Everytime I've started a contract I've been inducted on one. I'll send you a few photo's of the one I'll be in next week if you want!

You can also find other companies on

To operate a cradle (BMU) Building maintenance Unit you will need site specific training
The cost is normally picked up by the duty holder (building owner or manager)
You will also need to look at self rescue training
