That's good to hear Len, is your Tm a Blazer plus by any chance? If so, could you give your thoughts on them?

Regarding the blower how much 2" hose can you run before  your suction is reduced drastically?

Thoughts on my machine more efficient than a porty (black max) but not as good as some so I’m told 

Hose run 250ft so it says gone to 300ft plus a whip hose of 50ft vertical gravity counts

vac performance drops in a linear fashion every extra length of hose you put on.  It just depends what you personally find an acceptable threshold below which the vac isn't performing well enough.

Also don't forget it's your pump and heat at machine that has to push all the way to the wand as well.

Whichever way round you look at it, even a small TM at 400ft will be performing better than a standard portable

About the blower. I am not sure it's the one that you guys are after. Don't know what it came out of as I got it from Woodbridge several years ago. Also I think I should correct my earlier post where I described it as fairly new. That's not true. It's at least three  years old as that's how long I have had it sat in my workshop. It was used when I got it from Woodbridge but they said at the time that it hadn't done masses of hours. I only ran it for 1-200 hours.. It looks in good order. Has most of the original paint. Turns freely with no hint of slack or play. The first thing I did when I got it was to change the oil but the old stuff that came out looked to be pretty clear which I was pleased with as it seemed to suggest it had been looked after. When I used it in that lash up of a TM I built it ran trouble free and produce good vacuum. It's just the rest of my machine that was carp.

I used to have a pdf from Gardner Denver giving all the specs and techy stuff. Can't locate it right now. But I am certain it is a direct replacement for a roots 36. Will try to sort out pics once I have located USB lead.

running 4 to the door just means less loss of airflow over any given distance - power of the machine doesn't come in to it

If anything, the lower powered the machine, the more you should use it!

but a 3lp doesnt run at a high enough velocity to max out one 2in hose does it? otherwise wouldnt they of made it and every other machine as dual port as standard?

If you have that spec machine you are probably doing domestics up to 100ft day in day out and suppliers are catering for that market with these machines.

However some similar spec machines do come dual port as standard.

4 to the door whatever the power will be helpful on long runs.
