Have I missed the point?
« on: January 19, 2012, 06:02:30 pm »
Had a call from a company today who wanted to put me in a directory with the following benefits for Local Authourity Work .............

"Each Procurement officer now has control of his/her own budget and, as a consequence, has to be seen to be achieving ‘best value practise’ with their budget.

The Local Government Discounted Directory is specifically designed to assist every procurement officer in every department within every Council with their purchasing.

The Digital Directory will only allow the inclusion of Four companies in your field, hence; you will not be listed with 101 competitors.

Your inclusion in The Digital Discounted Directory will require a one-off payment from you at the rate of:
£45.00 for the full 12 months."

One other carpet cleaner who had rebooked from last year.....so called him. Not booked yet and was as sceptical as me.
Company called Future Publications.
I would like to have a go at schools etc but I suspect the best way to do that is to go in and try and get to the bursar and offer a demonstation clean, or have I missed the point?

Why would someone who has to prove best value restrict himself to 4 contractors. Load of balls mate tell them to do one. These scams have been about for years they just keep changing the publication.
Stick to tried and tested methods.

I'm on the local council directory for carpet cleaning.
I receive the work to price up electronically.
I go measure up and send the relevant school, nursery
etc the quote, get the go ahead electronically.
Submit the electronic invoice at the end and the cash
is in the bank 4 days later.
And this cost me NOTHING.

I tried BirminghamCity Council and they don't have an approved register..........Solihull do. Do't want all of Birmingham just a tiny bit.
Is the best way to knock on doors of where I want to be?
It would be great if you could electronically clean too!!!

Dave.

Every year I put this (and all due respect to those on here from the area) but scam central of this country runs along the Liverpool-St Helens-Manchester line.
Unless they're all linked I find it strange that all the police, ambulance, fire service booklets and wall charts etc seem to be from that area and THEY ARE ALL SCAMS.

What I find strange Neil is that these tw*ts have been getting away with this for years.

I suppose it's quite easy to keep moving from serviced office to serviced office, different company names every few months, different bank accounts. Print a few booklets to prove that they were done etc.

Best way to get into schools is to have kids.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
