chasing debt letter anyone?
« on: January 15, 2012, 11:03:25 pm »
i have  2 ex customers who me in the region of £50 each both been telling me they are gonna pay me for nearly 6 months!
Im not messing around anymore, anyone got a letter i can post to them?
Also a woman smashed into my van last year and wrote one side off,she tried to drive off after she hit it,luckily the mrs seen her and i ran out and chased her up the road making her stop.
She gave me a sob story about how she would pay for the van to be repaired.Anyway i was sick of driving it and said i wanted to get rid of the van and she would pay for what i lost.
Anyway i make it i lost about £700.
I sent a letter saying i expect her to pay me within 7 days else i will instruct my solicitors to deal with it all.I got a letter through the door the next day saying she will pay after January the 5th as her dad had died and she will get a inheritance.
January the 5th come,i go to the house and its empty.
Really not happy, not sure what to do???
Last time i try and be reasonable,if anything like this happens i will go through the insurance and call the police and when i see her next i will really lose it!

With regards  to the 'accident'  you really needed to get insurance details and or informed the police ( within 48 hrs )

the police won't be interested now and unfortunatly it looks like she's played you - do you have the reg No.?

you may be able to trace her down that way

i think you'll have to write that one off... :(

search some past threads on debt's there is a company that will send out a letter for a couple of quid - coming from
an 'official' 3rd party may be more effective in getting the customers to pay up

I st rule of debt : never let it exceed 30 days customer feel it melt away after 30 days. 2nd rule on dept
Don`t be afraid to face up to these thieves.IT takes balls but your customer will see you mean business.I text them every day and after 30 day send the letters and keep calling on them.I had this arrogant ex air force officer who would slam the door in my face.He felt I had a cheek to want me to pay.I would use all the mobile phones we had in our house as he would block the calls.I e mailed him at work were he worked as a consultant. I knew others would see it. I knocked on his door every week at different times of the day and put my foot so he could not slam the door.He paid up after 60 days.I tell you he will never f**k his window cleaner again. When he paid I send him a text and a message telling why I will not been doing his windows again. I made his life hell. ::) ::)

I know there is a principle at stake but is it really worth all that stress? Write it off and put all that effort into finding new better customers.

Oh and half a dozen eggs work really well lol and then have a word with all the other cleaners so he cant get one.

I used to work for a company that blacklisted bad payers in the building game, maybe should start a site where cleaners could publish bad payers so they can never get their windows cleaned....

1 clean and if not paid by next clean. Adios and a very soapy top window left with thanks. Doesn't take much to replace them. Also think a way to publish bad payees is a great idea. All for 1.

Haha of course you can't! All this waffle makes me chuckle. Letters, court etc?? If I received that letter from a cleaner I would laugh as I folded it into a paper aeroplane and chucked it at him.
