Been asked by a couple of customers about having their gutters cleaned out. Have usually put them off or said i dont do it, but have decided that im going to go for it now.

Am going to go for a small guttervac (1300w) as i just want something for the odd reisdential job.

So whats a cheap way of making up the tubes ? what diameter tubes & hose is good and has anyone made their own attatchments for the ends ?

I have just, bot kidding, at about 6 oclock, gone and bought a gutter vac off someone in Wrexham. These are the what he has been using as poles 2". Seem to work fine. And only 65 quid for 20ft worth!

I bought a gutter vac from gutter cleaning systems which I'm pleased with.  I bought the 27litre karcher which I don't think they do anymore.

I found the curved end was restricting me to only doing guttering from the same angle - below and a couple of metres out.

Using 50mm mini guttering from B&Q I've made a variety of different ends.  Using one or two of the angles (100 deg I think) I can now hold the main gutter pole horizontally and clear gulleys, like the ones often at the back of coservatories.

I 'melted' the ends by turning them in the flame of a flame gun - A 2m length of downpipe and two angles cost under £15 and has made my gutter vac much more versatile.

I think it was panes and frames from plymouth who posted excellent photos of his DIY system using the Lidl vac

Few questions ... is that 50mm internal or external ?

Also how high do you use the 50mm pipe for gutter vaccing ?

I use the alluminium poles that came from gutter cleaning systems which take me, at a push, to three floors - I wouldn't want to go higher particularly.

You could use the 50mm down pipe in 2 or 3 m lengths but I'm not sure how much give there is in the couplers - I would stick one end of the coupler permanently using the solvent adhesive they use for the white drainage pipe. 
I'll measure the pipe diameters tomorrow and get back to you.

Have been thinking along same lines looks good I presume its push on type connectors.... Could you reduce to maybe 11/4 " waster to get into gutters easier..

How are you connecting to vaccuum and what vaccuum you using.. and how you connect to vac

Fantastic idea and cheaper than some models out there..

there are 32mm 40mm and 50mm waste pipe options, and then gutter down pipe is about 70mm [ish]

just a thought, but cant see it being a biggy would it be worth using push fittings, as if the needs arises can be unblocked quick, by pulling apart, and you could make the top length of pipe plastic, just the top though!!

The B&Q mini guttering is 50mm o/d & 47mm i/d

There are some handy adapters and hoses etc on the polarbrite website.
