I used to live in a mid terrace and had a van mount so had to fill this way everyday of the week, I just told people to stay off my path 

jokes aside I used to put out trip signs, never once had a problem, I then converted van mount to static and pumped it in daily so much easier and quicker

Are you intending to leave the hose there over night and let it fill your tanks in the van/car?  Might be a better idea to have a holding tank in the back yard, then a transfer pump to fill the mobile tank in the morning, shouldn't take long.

YEP I LIVE IN A TERRACE buy some of that 80's plastic carpet runner to run through your rooms.(roll up and put in the shed) my hose comes from back garden through kitchen,dining room,living room then out the front door. if im parked outside my house its fine and it will stretch one car space left or right, and if there are no spaces its in the middle of the road with hazards on! its a ballache but needs must. I have a 30ft length of hose. oh yes and get your trip hazard signs out.

wouldn't like to leave it out for long. 5 mins filling from storage tank is fine. several hours is asking for trouble/vandalism/complaints.

would be worth doing what he says above if you can, have a static tank out back then pump thru from there.

i would think the main problem would be electric cable running into the street in the winter when you need to keep the van warm

thanks for your input guys, how much would it cost for a static system and pump and the stuff needed in the van, i,ll be using about 300 ltr per day..

How long is a piece of string?  Perhaps by searching in forum might find some useful info......

Static IBC tank = £45
Transfer pump from b&q = region of £40
Long 1 inch pipe = region of £40-80ish depending how long through/around
Poles = region of £80-250 depending length/material
hose reels and pumps etc around £200-300 perhaps
RO system = beteen £200-1000

As you can see, lots of variables like between/around....depending what you go for. 

I got a 4040 system from june at gaps water, as it was originally in van and i wanted something to filter quickly and fairly efficently, but there are cheaper systems out there.
