You're lucky GB - I live in lincs too and the water after RO is always about 14Ive replaced my 10" pre-filters twice in the last year as well !! (£6.90 delivered off eBay)

I change pre-filters about every 6 months.A set of 10" filters cost around £15.

so its just accured to me this morning that ive never replaced the prefilters in my new (ish) ro yet i got it new in june last year so its about 8 months old at the end of this month! the salt stuff in one of the prefilters looks brown, butits looked brown for a long time to be honest!i live in a hard water area (around 300ppm out the tap) and i use approx 800 ltrs a week im thinking its about time i should change prefilters so i dont ruin my ro membranes (thsts if i havnt already! )the thing is when i first got my ro it was coming out about 15ppm and just laterley its coming out the ro at 001ppm i dont get it?any help appreciated!thanks george
