Does Rain cause spots...
« on: January 04, 2012, 06:40:10 pm »
Sorry to be anal  ;D but I'm sure you guys understand.  During my testing the other day I bladed off one window and scrimed it as well, then left the two for comparison.  I noticed spots where my water had dried so I've ordered the cure for that problem.

However, after the mental rain we had yesterday, I now notice that the Trad window is full with grey spots from the rain we had, as are all the other windows.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the rain shouldn't leave marks...   I guess it depends on the poxy cloud thats passing and the crap it contains  ;D

Your thoughts Gentleman please  :)

It's the wind that carries the dirt. It's been mega windy the last couple of days.

Interesting that you say that about the frames, someone else said the same thing on another thread of mine.

Why does this happen then?

White spots are not the wind as it would have to blow over white lime powder, its old pvc or painted or alu oxidised frames.

I'd go with that. It can leave the windows greasy, for want of a better word.

the truth is window cleaning is a complete waste of time during relentless strong to gale force winds and showers.dirt is blown onto the pure water droplets when wfp then when they dry it dries with spots.

windows will be filthy when we all finally get round all our work.at least we ll have something to clean off!!!! ;) ;D ;D

rain after wfp without strong winds DOESNT LEAVE SPOTS in my experience.they come up great.only time they dont is if you dont clean the top frame and rain water drips down onto the nice clean glass!!but if your a good window cleaner the top frame gets cleaned as a matter of course when you clean the window.

if your trad using a strong detergent mix then when you squeegee the window the invisible layer of soap can mix with rain and leave spots.
price higher/work harder!

:)please explain how this would happen and what the process would be.There would have to be something suspended  in the heavens to produce the white material.

you will find thats spots are resedue from the frames mate

Theres an element of truth in that, however my belief on traded windows is that there is a residue of cleaning fluid left on the glass in addition to the frames, albeit invisible to the human eye immediately after tradding, it is this that becomes visible once the glass becomes wet once again. Re-appearing where the water droplets were.

Must be the local way of thinking ;D or though I m pretty sure some will not agree ;)
