the problem with a lot of things in window cleaning, is they get developed and get "tested" and then sold,  when real window cleaners get there hands on they this is real "testing" and it is amazing how bad a lot of stuff is  yet we are expects to pay them to be there testers and help them develop better products  thus making them more money,

A little harsh Mr Vader - you can test a product to the enth degree and as soon as it goes on sale problems arise
look how many times cars get a recall for example.

For me the AD has always worked perfectly - the mk1 started to wear on the rivet after 8 months or so but this has
already been resolved with an extra rivet -  when items are used manually ( by people ) wear can occur in different ways
one guy who works for me can totally wear out a brush in 10 weeks flat ( and i mean totally kn@ckered )
yet mine last for 6/7 months before showing signs or wear & tear - but i'm heavier on my pole with wear occurring
just behind each clamp on sections 1 to 3

AD - have a great product and excellent customer service - they just dont need to get involved on a public
forum with a disgruntled custy like they have in the last couple of days

am sick of spending money on wfp stuff that is crap,  poles, brushs, jets, resin bottles,  resin,  its all crap,  at the mo i am using a brush i have had for nearly 3 years as everything else i buy just isnt up to scratch for the job,  will be using a pole, where clamps keep opening and coming loose when in use,  the crews on the brushs come lose,  leaking di vessels,,  sick of buying glue,  sicking of losing hours of work and spening my night s reglueing stuff because its broke again,  sick of change my brush and the jets snap,  everything in window cleaning is built as cheap as they can get is,  pole connectors are a joke,   u need ot make £45 an hour in this business, just to be able to afford to replace stuff when and it does break

I am afraid they do smudg me ol lad because they will not talk on the phone to you unless you are lee of course and maybe YOU.

no never talked to AD on the phone - email comms has always been good and queries been sorted very
quickly.


I'm sorry your experience has not been the same but it appears the majority have been happy with both the
product and service.

Yes I see/agree with this reasoning (that's why I didn't buy an iPhone 1 ).

Small companies particularly though hope that, when you can see potential in a product, you'll take a (hopefully small) risk, or the company making/selling them won't be able to continue long enough to improve it.  Hopefully the company values the loyal customers and rewards them by fulfilling the potential of the product and providing a good service.

Reminds me of the early adopter vs late adopter cycle with technology.

Sometimes these customers do inevitably become 'testers', but they hopefully also get some benefit from that (financial or otherwise).

I know of some people who are still using an Aqua-dapter Mk1, so they got the best of both worlds

The Mk2 has been on sale since November 2010.  Apart from the "bad batch" of plastics, we've had a very low failure/return rate.  Sometimes things go wrong with a product with moving parts, but it's been a robust piece of equipment when treated properly.

what about the SPRINGS.?

Initially we had a problem with springs breaking after a couple of months use, so we sent spares with units, until early last year when we switched to stronger springs.  They break occasionally (obviously depending on how much use they get), but we've sent replacements, and we offer spares on the website.  We're still working to further improve them.

I think most, if not all, of the customers who've commented also had the problem with the plastics, and got replacements at the time.

The Mk3 improves on the previous version mainly by being lighter, easier to fit and not needing the clamp.

Ask those team principals of Formula 1 about the difference between bench testing (aero testing in their wind tunnels) and performance on the track can be two totally different things.
You have to start somewhere when you begin to manufacture a new product.

When Mr Vader says that we are expected to buy the product and become the testers is not entirely true in my experience.

With a lot of product out there, users do get test samples ahead of release to use, abuse, evaluate and constructively report back on. Bosch Power Tools often did this. Some window cleaners have been given stuff to try by various suppliers before the product become available - Gardiners being one of them.

Would I buy a Mk1 of any product? In the motor trade the first C5's that came out around 2000 were lovely cars but suffered from computer programming problems. Later models were sorted and were extremely reliable. So would I have bought a new C5 just released - no; I would have waited. Buying a Mk1 car that could become a flop is expensive.

Did I buy the Mk1 Aqua-dapter. Yes. I could immediately see that this was what I was waiting for and I got the benefit of saving my bad back everytime I would have had to bend down to switch the tap off. And it wasn't the price of a Mk1 C5.

I hope Boone bought an iPhone 4 then, with the signal drop problem! Again they had tester but it still had problems, bit still the best phone IMO
