Hi im just wondering what all your views are on new build and redevelopment cleans, we recently completed one and it was a bloody nightmare, the bathroom floors were full of paint, plaster and silicone and it took hours to remove also they were still working on the place when we were called in which didnt help as they should have finished the job the day before we got there. I feel we were ripped off too as it took two cleaners two solid days to complete the clean (big house) and when we invoiced them we let them barter us down to £220 which for all the stock we used, fuel, expenses and wages we feel was a bit naff. As you might guess were new to builders cleans.
We only accepted the ammount incase we didnt get paid at all, what do you think?

I think any company that want to barter with you the finished price are not worth working for, set out your price from the begining and stick to it.
And yes when you first start builders cleans they do seem a nightmare, and the one youve done sounds oh to simmilar, but that is where you make your money on your re cleans , and sparkle cleans, did you do it yourself or did you have someone else do it for you, at that price i would be crying.

I agree with chris, fix your price before you do the job  and make sure you have that agrrement in writing or get them to fax a confirmation.  If you did a good job then there should be no reason for complaint from your client and they should pay up the full amount when the job is finished.

Make sure there is a Company rep present when you hand over the job, just in case you have to put something right before you leave site, you will then get paid for the work you've done.

Oh by the way, did you visit the site beforehand to see how much work really needed to be done?  You must always visit the site so you can get an accurate picture of what is required to be.

Pick up as much work as you can on the builders clean as this will rerduce the amount of work you will have to do on the Re-Clean and Sparkle and you will then make more profit with the RC & Sparkle.

If you do not get all three cleans then you may get away with a premium rate.
