Hozelock autoreel ??
« on: December 22, 2011, 04:02:52 pm »
Anybody modded a autoreel to use 6mm hose instead of half inch garden hose ? would save time reeling in all the time.

You will need a 4 or 5 times longer spring to make that work.

But installing an electric motor to a manual one makes more sense.

This one takes 40m 1/2 hose so might fit a 80m microbore.

Opening them is like a barrell of monkeys  :o belt drives cogs and patented spanners needed.
I did it and regretted it but did put it back together.

I posted the same idea on here a while ago. Was told of someone replacing handle with socket, and using a battery drill on their reel. Better idea I thought too!

Dont waste your time and money!

I played around with autoreel many years ago! and they dont last 5 mins! as there a domestic product and not for ever day commercial use!
