As you know I don't do leave it til Spring and if my custies don't like it I drop them but .....
This post it note arrived today attached to a cheque from one of my every two monthlies.
Dear (Gold)
Thank you for cleaning our windows, but can you leave them until May 2012 please? This is nothing to do with your work which we are well pleased with.
Have a Merry Xmas and a happy new year.

Tough one eh, as they were so nice!

Some on here might think that your stance is unreasonable. I think you have it spot on though. The way I view it is, suppose every one of my customers did this. By the time I am supposed to clean their windows next I would be either homeless or getting threatening letters from my mortgage lender, hungry, on the verge of bankruptcy or at the least, starting to default on my debts, kicked out of my work unit for not paying the rent/water bill, unable to pay my gas/electric etc. etc. I once (politely) asked a customer how he would cope if forced to take four months unpaid leave from his work. He cancelled

. Apparently I made my point rather
too well

. It's a bit like the "don't work in the rain" custies. Well sorry mate. My life has to go on whether it rains or not. I can see why quite a few win dow cleaners end up only doing commercial - though that can have headaches of its own - albeit sometimes without the potential micro-management of domestics.
