i aint good at spelling so yeah there are spelling mistakes on my site, thanks for pointing it out.
but fot a nvq in window cleaning imo i find it quite pointless as i work on a small scale. i dont know and the H &S rules word for word as i suppose they would teach you on a couse. but i am naturally ultra safe and i work safe.
i did read up on all the acts i listed when i first ever completed a safe contractor questionaire, the asbestos one i felt stupid adding but i do hi level cleaning it needed to be cover on the safe contractor questionaire.
for idealrob, how do you mean
how does the pic on your website of your van and the WAHR 2005 comply.
Whats wrong with my van, i have a new one now though. I keep the van in good nick no bald tyres etc
WAHR 2005: well i rarely use a ladder as i am 100% WFP and olny use for access or some gutter cleaning jobs
i stay to the 75% rule or 1:4 on a ladder and equipment is checked on regular inverals all WaH jobs i risk assess
when i use scaffolding it must have toe board and guard rails other wiise i will refuse to use
I am yet to use my IPAF for MEWPS but i know that i must wear a harness, as you can be catepolted out (especially in the evelated booms).
i know what is needed for my business i am ultra safe as i already said but a course would teach me more but it wouldnt improve my business.
i know that using a pressure washer without ear defenders, gloves and face/eye protection is asking for trouble
as is using a ladder on ice.
but i do see why there are courses out there, yeah i can read and learn but still natrually know basic health and safety. i did have employees before, and what i thought was commen sense obviously wasnt to them. so a course probably would have suited them, but one got sack as he was a frank spencer and a H&A risk and the other got full time work.
