depends what suits you I guess, van is always going to look more professional, but what do you really want is the question.

I would like a  pick up mate but I think this may not go down well with new customs as it will look like you are loaded. I.e. "That window cleaner has a better car than me"

not looking at spending loads
second hand few years old

always had vans but see a pick up running around near me last week another windie all sign written looked nice

plus had the additional seats-handy for kids etc

would be a bit worried about security thou

If you only ever do window cleaning then a pickup might be ok. If you start any ad-ons like pressure washing, gutter cleaning etc a van is much more versatile.

i used to see a 4x2 mitsubishi pickup with ladders and it looked really cool.   old style and quite battered , in my opinion the 2 wheel drive pickups are the best for window cleaning,light and economical-ish

 however, i drive a small van

If it has to do everything then a van with seats in the back.

If you can make do with a 250L tank and want to look like "medallion man" then a pick up!  ;D
