Im noticing that working in very strong wind with wfp is a waste of time.the windows are not drying clear as the strong gusts are just blowing dirt onto the droplets thus eventually drying spotty.

what do you guys do?just like a lot of you i have a mountain of work to try and get through from now until xmas.forecast bad again this week.im thinking of blading the ground floor windows and just hope for the best on upper ones.not very professional though.

Poor results with the pole in wind
So gona do ground floor by hand today,

The only problem is I sell my services as the fantastic wfp
Better finish blah blah blah.....

So might get a few comments about blazing
And I don't want to say that wfp is no good in the wind!
As this will give them room to cancel,
Have to get me thinking cap on .....

Strong winds will also blow bits onto trad cleaned windows. The residue left from trad cleans will grab dust etc even more than wfp cleans. Appreciate you have a lot to fit in before Xmas, but will your custies really be happy, maybe they would be happier with "I will get to you as soon as I can, but don't want to risk giving you a bad clean in this weather"
Losing a little income this way, may save you having to find new custies next year

This may be true Helen but had 4 days of last week due to stronger winds

So this is not a option it's still windy here till at least saturday
So just have to crack on and hope the custys don't look out there windows till it's dark

i think ill just crack on and clean the best i can!!the thing is windows i clean on calmer days get dirty very quickly so by the time i collect my money their filthy again!!!

Your worrying too much Daz, Helens right,it be the same affect or even worst trad.
Even if results were not quite as good during windy periods,whos gonna notice anyway?
Bet 99% of custies never check their windows,plus its dark when they leave for work and dark when they return home for many.

If you use professional cleaning solutions (trad) there is very little difference in how long the window stays clean, it's actually been WAY over blown by forums like this!

It depends on the conditions also, I wfp my own windows on sunday- they are FILTHY right now!!

One house I do all wfp apart from one side of two patio doors, so that's two big pieces of glass right next to each other- one done wfp the other trad. NEVER after 8 weeks is one pane dirtier than the other!

Looking at the bigger picture it is only a little income, compared to the rest of the years income

I'm not saying anyone is wrong in "trying" to clean in bad conditions, but in all honesty if you haven't made good money throughout the rest of the year (and enough to get you through tough weather times) then something is wrong.

True...ish, if you are cleaning in dry non windy conditions, but this is about cleaning in wet, windy weather.

It really doesn't make that much difference what method you use in bad conditions.
The back of our house is quite open to the elements, if wfp'd or tradded they still get dirty quicker than the fronts, which is quite sheltered.

I've been at this job for 20yrs and the last 4/5 wfp - never had any issues about weather only freezing ever stops me working (and wind if its dangerous) and thats the same whether its wfp or trad, I just crack on and clean the windows and get paid. I do mostly commercial so I guess its a little different but I do have about 100-120 domestics a month and they get the same - when I take on a monthly custy, I clean them monthly.

Just put pure water in your bucket without any chemicals and if you have a wagtail and extension pole, wash and blade the tops at the same time. Still working safely from the ground.

Ended up gettin a good days work cleaned.cold wind but not gale force!got a few xmas tips and there was a fistful of cheques waiting for me when I got home.happy days!  .
