HOW to stand out now that.....

Now that Chem dry have adopted the .....YOU are fully backed by our no quibble Cast-Iron Money Back Guarantee marketing the same as alot of others out there.

I cant see how they are going to stand out from the crowd! It can only be a good thing as its driving up Prices for me :)

Now before we get onto a PRICE is king thread again... how are the guys that use this king of Marketing going to stand out from this now!!

Carpet, Upholstery cleaning & hard floor cleaning.
                     Fife, perth and tayside.

It would actually put me off using any company/service. I just want a good job done, simple as.... All that malarkey sets off doubt in my mind straight away...

But that's just me... :)

I bought our house on the understanding that "We will guarantee quick response to any problems you find may find for the next 2 years...!" NHBC I think they call it... What a load of twaddle....

Before I binned my new Yellow Pages, I had a good laugh at one of the Edinburgh Chem Dry adverts.

It said "I swear under oath to give you the cleanest, freshest carpets and upholstery possible... or your money back".

That's a (very) loose reworking of the Tova Borgnine perfume ad headline (a really successful advert).

What I've been wondering with all these types of promises is..... Who verifies it is cleaner and fresher than (insert other carpet cleaners).
Without an independant source to check this out surely it is just words that can't be proved one way or another.

Chem dry have been using the " satisfied or your money back "  type deal since 1997, we all do it anyway , its basic consumer law , they just advertise it as a benefit .

Jason the a CD's near me doing there marketing the alltec network way hand written notes arrows etc that what am on about

I went on the Alltec discovery day up our way earlier this year and there were 4 or 5 Chem Dry franchisees on it. They will be fully paid up Alltec marketing customers.

There's a CD near me that goes on the Alltec courses he's quite an avid marketeer he lurks on here (hello Allan), the easiest thing to remember is if you get your message across and make sure you have lots of messages as well also IMO you set your prices to suit.

I think the Carpet Cleaners are more fixated on USP'S / Prices / Powerful Vacs / High PSI, Etc, than their customers who just want their carpets Cleaned, in fact MANY only want them IMPROVED / REFRESHED.

Why not LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS and GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Most customer's want a decent, proper job done at a fair price, can't say I blame them because that's exactly what I want when I'm looking for the services of a trades-person... :)

Hi Guys

All depends on whether you want to stand out from the crowd.

Customers might not be interested in all the technical details but most of mine want  top job, thats why we sell benefits.

I want to be a specialist cleaner not a commodity one.

No. I didnt expect them to though as I had a meeting with Robert the day previously and explained I was only coming out of interest.
We arent a domestic C&U business (as you know).

If I was after a service that I was paying for and someone came in to 'interview me' before quoting they'd be out the door in double quick time.

Its an arrogant approach to doing business IMO, going in with the attitude ' I might let you pay me a lot of money for the privilege of
having me clean for you'


I would rather leave them with the impression that it would be a privilege for us, to clean for them.

Your right though, face to face will produce more results.
