SHOULD I BOTHER WITH DI IF MY TDS IS ONLY 7?
« on: December 08, 2011, 12:00:00 am »
Im very tempted to get rid of my resin barrels, as im hearing how many use it when the tds goes into the 30's

and as mine is only 7, maybe i could get away with it.

im finally coming to the end of my 1st bag of resin which has lasted over 4yrs, and i dont fancy shelling out £70 on a bag i will hardly use.

obviously worried about spotting, might try it on my own windows, see what its like 1st.

are you 100% sure your tds meter is correct, 7pmm,  am 20ppm  and that is in scotland, and i thought i had it good, any way no point getting rid of resin, as you said it last for years like mine  keeps your water at 000 is assurance that if something goes wrong, at least you can not blame the water, and so look at brush contamination, and so on, better to be safe than sorry, you know the old saying, preperation makes a good job, and 000 tds is that to us in wfp, where are you based,

If you advertise pure water window cleaning, then the water should be pure.
if it is dirty it is fair game

I can't believe you are even asking the question, if any of our vehicles reach 005 we change the resin, I want 000 at all times then I am sure we will not be hitting any problems.

If you leave it and start getting complaints then the minimum you will have to do is reclean all the windows, however you will also need to regain peoples confidence in the whole aspect of WFPing windows.

What's £70 over 4 years for piece of mind?

7 out the tap? or after RO? 7 out the tap would be very unlikely.

no problem. but worth having it as backup. your tds is bound to rise in time, handy to have it anyway. but its not something I would stress about. while tds is low you won't get thru much resin.
