struggling with the wind
« on: December 07, 2011, 02:26:20 pm »
as it says above  :-[ im finding the wfp system really hard to work in this wind  :(
i know you guys up north have have got it loads worse than we have in the south.
But honestly im finding it really hard to try and do a days work. Ive had loads of back problems since 2006,
& when the wind is like this it really takes its toll on my back.
It takes alot of core work to do wfp, but you dont realise till the wind gets up.
Just thought i would share my thought & troubles with you guys.  :(

There's no simple answer, purer; working from ladders wasn't much fun either.

Some guys like to use a heavier pole when it's windy; rather than something lightweight like an SLX, but if it's too windy, I just take the time off and try to make up for it when the weather is more suitable.

Yeah, I'm with Tosh, I had to pack it in today just to windy, I'm in N. Wales. Also, I found by the time you've cleaned 'em with it being wet glass+ heavy wind, they're all dusted up in no time so the customers tend not to be too chuffed either. Don't worry too much about it, it will abate  ;D

Just getting around in these winds can be difficult - so still using WFP is some going take care out there.

good way of looking at it Tosh  ;) think im gonna take a step back when its this windy.
not worth having the back ache from it all, then taking the next day off cause my back is that sore.

I looked at it this morning and decided it was a paperwork day!! Maybe tomorrow as well. We have had a very dry year so far so I expect most have ££ in the bank saved for such times.

cleaned a house this morning and went over the road and cleaned 4 others.this customer gave me an £8 tip and said have i cleaned the back bedroom one?as its filthy!sure enough it was dusty as hell!!the wind had blown loads of dirt onto the droplets.anyway i cleaned it again for her.

wfp just makes a mess of the windows during extreme winds.it can be a nightmare! :( :(
price higher/work harder!

ive kept going where a lot of people would of given up. its not easy working when you have 3 burst discs in your lower back, trust me  ;) i was gonna go for a 3rd back opp, but it was a case of if it worked great. If it had not of worked, i would of ended up in a wheel chair. A 50/50 that i didnt want to take a chance on.  :( thats why i just try and do what i can when i can  :)
