I remember a while back you posted a youtube video of a Gardiners soft dual trim sill brush being used with hot water.

On Gardiners site it says this particular brush is not suitable for hot water use. Does it stand up OK (wear issues) and work well with hot water?

I have the same brush and sometimes use hot water.

Just an update on the above - Following a 'Hot Water Testing' program that we have recently undertaken there is now more specific temperature guides for each brush contained within a hot water brush chart.

This brush is now rated for water temperatures 'at the brush-head' up to 30°C.

This is good as long as like Alex Gardiner said, don’t use above 30 Degrees, and the answer to your question is that NO, the bristles bend after few time using these kind of brushes because of the heat we use on this brush which is around 50 Degrees at the brush end.

In terms of usage, the brush is still useable.

Thanks Bosh. I think this brush works well with cold water and currently is my brush of choice but looks like I will have to use a different brush when I switch on the hot.

Thanks for reply Pope, I did not find the mark II and III sl dt mono scrubbed very well, though the new one may be better. I also want a brush I could use on leaded windows so will probably use a sl flocked.

For most of my work I use the soft dt sill brush on a clx22 with cold water, the other brush will go on a clx27.

I also sometimes use a vikan on a 17ft xtel (probably will switch it to another clx22).

It seems to much hassle to change a brush on a pole.
