Quiet or busy in November / December
« on: December 05, 2005, 10:37:35 pm »
Thanks to advice given by the learned people on this forum I have been busy delivering Leaflets since September. In September and October I was printing on my PC using cheap 100gsm paper and was getting good response, all was going to plan. :)

And then, it all seems to have gone a little off plan :(. I decided to get some proper cards printed, same size and design - but high quality card (300gsm)  and gloss print. Since then - not a sausage, 1500 done last month - phone has not used any of its battery life- website hits have fallen.

I tried phoning myself to make sure the phone works, and partly for someone to talk to.  :'(

My question, in multiple choice format, even if it did take some while to get to;

1. Is this a bad time to leaflet (Christmas and all)?,
2. Do people prefer to go somewhere with low budget leaflet, thinking that they will be cheaper?
3. Have I been putting them through the wrong letter boxes?

Answer on a 300 GSM high gloss professionally produce postcard please,   :-\

Hi

I think you may have a point when it comes to the printing of the leaflets, I use my own printer and so on and I do tend to get quite a good responce form the leaflet drops but I suppose every area is different. I don;t know about anyone else on here but we are now fully booked including wekends until the new year. It seems every one wants a clean home for when the family comes at xmas. Anyway don't loose hope, hang on in there until the party season over and everyone is left with tinsel everywhere and I bet your phone won't stop.

Hi

Thanks for that, I still have 3500 to drop, and was wondering if it may be better to save them for a peak time, but it sounds like this should be that peak time.

Do I carry on dropping leaflets - or save them for the new year ?

What do you think ?  :-\

CHRISTMAS TIME SHOULD SURELY BE YOUR BUSIEST TIME
IN THEROY I WOULD THINK THE BETTER LEAFLETS YOU HAVE THE BETTER RESPONSE YOU WOULD GET.
BUT DIFFERENT THINGS WORK IN DIFFERENT AREAS AND IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT I WOULD  GO BACK TO WHAT YOU HAD

That was kind of my thoughts, the reason to change was cost oh printing in ink cartridges, I'm thinking about trying another 1500 and if things do not pick up, go back to my cheap looking expensive to produce home version.

Thanks

why not do one on your printer and then get a copy shop to photocopie them in bulk.
not sure if your using colour or not but i know the shop near me charge £50 for 5000 in black and white

Thanks people,

Today got two calls for scheduled cleans, Both want short notice - despite the fact that the roads where done weeks ago.  ;D

One chap in another link suggested doing the same streets I have done again, this sounds like a good idea, as my results for the first few months were better than now, but the leaflets were at targeted.

Has anyone tried doing this?  :-\

Thanks
